About the Job
If you are a creative problem-solver who enjoys a fast-paced environment, the Prescient National Underwriting team could be the place for you! As a Portfolio Risk Analyst, you will be responsible for gathering information to price new workers’ compensation submissions, taking a lead role in managing the profitability of the team’s book, and recommending pricing for renewal policies. Training is provided for continued growth and expanded knowledge and internal movement within the company is embraced, whether it’s trying your hand at a new skill or upward mobility within your area of expertise.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Provide creative recommendations for pricing renewal business
• Use multiple tools including pricing models for appropriate pricing and communicate rationale for underwriting recommendations
• Gather and prepare all information necessary for a pricing decision to be made
• Exhibit a commitment to finding ways to retain business without sacrifice of quality
• Handle renewal accounts on a timely basis, attaining service timeliness standards
• Develop excellent working relationships with all business associates leading to high level of customer satisfaction including agents, internal customers, and external customers
• Use relationship abilities to obtain necessary information from producers for new and renewal business analytics
• Share responsibility for growth and profitability of book of business
• Review the book of business to confirm profitability and identify trends that need to be addressed that may be hindering profitability
• Perform other duties or special projects as assigned

Education/Experience:
• Bachelors degree preferred
• 2+ years of insurance experience preferred
• Workers compensation insurance experience preferred

Physical Demands:
• Regularly talks throughout the day during both in person conversations and via telephone
• Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects or tools
• Regularly required to sit for up to 8 or more consecutive hours
• Occasionally lifts up to 10lbs
• Regularly walks through a multi-level office environment
• Regularly types using a computer keyboard for up to 8 hours per day
• Regularly uses a computer mouse for up to 8 hours per day

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job the employee regularly works in an office setting.

Schedule/Expected Hours of Work:
The Portfolio Risk Analyst will be expected to work Full Time. This schedule will include a minimum of a 7.5 hour day Monday-Friday to fall between the hours of 7am and 6pm.
